Access Louisville is an informative video series on the LouisvilleMetroTV YouTube channel. It basically features Louisville news and people.
Hosted by Mayor Greenberg, a recent video (see below) shared various news items to help citizens stay current with city events and developments. The Mayor noted that Louisville needs 250 police officers; May was a record-breaking month for tourists; Louisville was named among the top 50 cities by US News; and June is Gay Pride month.
Mayor Greenberg introduced Chris Hartman, Executive Director of the Fairness Campaign in Kentucky, who urged everyone to participate in the Gay Pride events this month in Louisville and throughout the state. He had requested that the Gay Pride flag be flown in front of the Metro Government Center year-round (at about 10'12"), not just in June. Greenberg agreed to this and considered it a great idea.
The other potentially permanent fixture is an office for Special Projects whose Deputy Chief of Staff, Suzanne Wright, was introduced (at about 16'30"). Ms. Wright formerly worked for JCPS and was a Compassionate Louisville board member.
Was the meshing of TARC and JCPS for Magnet School transportation a ‘special project’? Are we to see a growing partnership between the Metro and the Public school System? Stay tuned.
