[state your name] Devin Williams, I'm just a common man. I've got three children in the schools.
We talk a lot about the experts. There's experts that depend on each side. There’s about as much one way is there is the other way.
Whenever I was in school, I was taught about facts and theories. Theories are based on opinion. Facts are based on proofs.
Talking about the mask-- We all know that wearing masks—there have been people that still got COVID.
As the doctor before said -- he wore N-95 masks correctly, but he still got COVID.
Now, one of the facts about the mask-- about the cloth masks that most of you here are wearing here today-- is that COVID will still go through that mask.
These are the same masks that most of the children is wearing in the schools today.
The masks are not effective against this disease.
Unless it's a N95 mask --and from what I've heard from the doctor, it's not even totally able to block this disease— this COVID.
We -- most of this is political. We want to put our children in the middle of a political discussion.
That shouldn't be allowed.
There is one man that stated before that our country was founded on freedom. We should have the freedom of choice to let our kids wear the mask or not wear the mask.
There is no proof-- There's no fact that that mask is going to stop the disease or the virus. It’s been proven that virus can go through it.
My children all have said-- You know --they were in the mask, but they'd rather not. But the reason that they won't take it off is because of the trouble that they'd get into at school.
We've got our kids afraid to stand up for their own thoughts and beliefs on their situation.
I'm totally against the mask mandate. It should be a choice. That's basically all I've got to say.
I hope you stand up. The majority of people believe it is the choice of the people.
Thank you.
