Fiscal Court building conversion
housing

The $28 million conversion is being led by Weyland Ventures, which was selected last year to redevelop the city-owned property... The program is funded by a portion of the $100 million that the Kentucky General Assembly allocated toward revitalization projects in Louisville for fiscal 2025-2026.

“We are proud at Weyland Ventures to be part of the next phase of Downtown’s growth and to be a part of bringing new life to this historic Fiscal Court Building. ...The conversion of this Fiscal Court Building will bring over 100 apartments to the heart of Downtown, positioned in the ideal location to connect the cultural and tourism activities on Main Street with there hospitality and restaurants along Fourth Street and the revitalization of Louisville Gardens.”

Pivot to Peace network connection in the River City?
Public Safety

The June 4th Public Safety Committee Metro Council meeting was a whopper. We learned about the million dollar donation to an ‘initiative’, the Pivot to Peace plan to curb gun violence. But in other parts of the world, Pivot to Peace is a network associated with Marxism.

A WHAS-11 report describes it as a youth outreach.

On the PeacePivot website, Hong Kong's Article 23 Law is described favorably and confusingly as desirable, but in this video (and many others), that law is described as draconian. Which is it?

Consent Decree Community Listening Session

On June 28 at the Newburg Community Center, citizens and many city employees came together to discuss the qualities and qualifications the public wants to see in the CD independent monitor. About 50 or so people talked at six tables of six with a city employee taking notes. The large note tablets were displayed and the top three concerns on a list were announced. People were invited to ask questions following the session. However, it was announced at about 11:05 that we needed to vacate the community room since we had gone beyond the reserved time, though the session was advertised as running from 10-11:30 AM. Some questions were fielded by city employees. Bottom line, the citizens who objected to the need for the CD, left without answers.

Kentucky From Above!

Kentucky is the first state in the nation to capture high-resolution aerial imagery of its entire geography. These photographs are free to access and open to the public online at the KYFromAbove Explorer.

“Team Kentucky leads the nation in using this technology to benefit our people,” Gov. Beshear said. “These images help us rescue people in danger and build back stronger after devastating storms. They also help businesses looking to invest here find the perfect place for their New Kentucky Home.”

A military helicopter pilot and small business owner repairing Blackhawks, he has an idea for Kentucky: Why not change the KY Constitution to have an electoral college for statewide offices just as our nation does for presidential races?
