Metro Government on chopping block?
David Nicklies, Realtor and developer, has challenged the constitutionality of merged local governments in Louisville Metro and Lexington-Fayette Urban County
In a lawsuit filed in Jefferson District Court Monday, Nicklies argues that the laws enabling these consolidations are examples of unconstitutional “special legislation” — laws tailored to specific localities in violation of Sections 59 and 60 of the Kentucky Constitution…
The Kentucky Supreme Court previously agreed to uphold SB 1. In a press release, Nicklies said the Court’s decision to rehear the arguments — following the election of Justice Pamela Goodwine — opens the door to broader constitutional scrutiny.
“What’s at stake isn’t just one policy,” Nicklies said. “It’s the legal foundation of how Kentucky’s largest cities operate.” Read more.
State Rep. Jason Nemes (R-Louisville), a member of the House GOP leadership, warned in a recent Courier Journal op-ed that the JCPS board’s legal challenge to SB1 could have unintended consequences. “If the Court rules that the Constitution prohibits legislators from enacting laws that have a single-county impact, many laws that benefit Louisville, Lexington and other communities would be at risk,” Nemes wrote. “For example, Metro Louisville’s consolidated city-county form of government could be vulnerable to a legal challenge because it was made possible by a law that applied to a classification of cities that only includes Louisville. A successful legal challenge to Metro Louisville’s government could undo the merger.” Read more.

A Statement from the twelve Republican Members of the Louisville Metro Council related to last week’s kidnapping and bank robbery by convicted criminal on shock probation.
...The decision to offer shock probation to this convicted violent offender was a terrible mistake. This wasn’t the first time this has occurred, but it can be the last. In the coming weeks, Republican members of the Metro Council’s Minority Caucus will work to create lasting policy initiatives that will help bring greater transparency to our court system along with proposals that will support our collective goal of creating a safer community.

WAVE TV stirs up a story
Asked if he made the right decision to reverse Louisville's 'sanctuary city' policy, Mayor Greenberg answered, “I believe we will avoid seeing mass ICE raids in this community,” Greenberg said. “I was looking to prevent that, to prevent National Guard from being in our city as well. And so that is the hope.”
Marxists on the move in Louisville
WAVE: Since the decision, there have been no mass ICE raids or national guardsmen in the streets, but critics say Greenberg’s decision added fuel to local immigrant fears of deportation, leaving uncounted residents feeling less secure.
“Because I think people are seeing the leader of the city say yes to Trump, and people know Trump is anti-immigrant,” Carla Wallace, co-organizer of Louisville Showing Up for Racial Justice said.

RevolverNews: For years, the American people have been gaslit, silenced, and lied to. We were told that Russiagate was real, that Trump was Putin’s puppet, and that the intelligence community had the evidence to prove it. But now, the whole thing is blowing wide open, thanks to President Trump and Tulsi Gabbard. And what’s being exposed isn’t just some shady political hit job; it’s something way bigger. This was an orchestrated coup attempt. A deliberate, calculated, and sinister scheme to take out a presidential candidate and then sabotage him once he won.
